The Buffalo Sabres have reassigned goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to the Rochester Americans, the team announced on Wednesday.
Luukkonen suffered a lower-body injury on January 11 against the Tampa Bay Lightning and has not played since.
The 22-year-old returned to practice on Tuesday at KeyBank Center.
The netminder has appeared in nine games with the Sabres this season, posting .917 save percentage and a 2.74 goals-against average.
The Amerks host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.
