Newark Pilots name Brian Greisman head coach

The Newark Pilots have named Brian Greisman as their new head coach for the 2022 season.

For the last two years, he has been the pitching coach at Cleveland Community College, while also serving as the head coach of the Southern Shores Collegiate Baseball league in the summer of 2021.

Prior to his time at Cleveland Community College, Greisman was the head coach at Turner High School for a year. He also was the head coach for the Ardmore Athletes-Summer Legion/Showcase 19U Team.

He also hosted his own Pitching and Hitting Lesson Academy from 2017-20, where he helped ages 6-25 on fundamental skills of the game.

Greisman spent his collegiate years at Wichita State University and Murray State College.  His final two seasons were spent at Wichita State.  In his two seasons at Murray State College, he helped the team to a World Series Championship (2013).

While a prep, he also participated in summer league baseball. He played for the Walla Walla Sweets Summer League and the Kansas Collegiate Baseball League, where he earned all-star honors.

He continued his playing career in the Professional Independent Empire League, where he claimed a World Series Championship in 2019.

The Pilots open the 2022 season on Friday, June 3 against the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park.
