Baseball season will be here before you know it.
The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League released the 2022 schedule on Wednesday.
The Auburn Doubledays will open their season on Friday, June 3 at home against the Newark Pilots while the Geneva Red Wings host the Utica Blue Sox. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m. Newark’s home opener is set for Saturday, June 4 against the Niagara Power.
According to the PGCBL press release, the league’s 16 teams will play a 48-game regular season schedule with the playoff format announced at a later date. Also new to the league for the season is division crossover doubleheaders.
The East division will include the Adirondack Trail Blazers, Albany Dutchmen, Amsterdam Mohawks, Glens Falls Dragons, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs, Oneonta Outlaws, Saugerties Stallions and the Watertown Rapids.
The West includes the Auburn Doubledays, Geneva Red Wings, Newark Pilots, Batavia Muckdogs, Elmira Pioneers, Jamestown Tarp Skunks, Niagara Power and the Utica Blue Sox.
