Newark, N.Y. – The Newark Pilots fell to the Jamestown Tarp Skunks, 6-4, in the 2021 season opener Friday night at Colburn Park.
The Pilots led 4-2 going into the ninth, but Jamestown put up a four spot to take a 6-4 lead.
All four of Newark’s runs came in the first. Jake Packer, Kevin Higgins and Frankie DiMartino each recorded an RBI.
Higgins had three of the Pilots seven hits.
Newark’s starting pitcher Mitchell Pascarella allowed just one hit over four shutout innings. He also struck out five and walked two.
The Pilots hit the road to take on the Niagara Power Saturday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PM.
