The Rochester Americans fell to the Charlotte Checkers, 5-2, on Friday night at the Blue Cross Arena.
Amerks goaltender Aaron Dell turned aside 18-of-22 shots and suffered his first loss of the season. Spencer Knight made 24 saves for the Checkers.
Rochester went 0-for-3 on the power play while Charlotte finished 1-for-4.
Linus Weissbach and JJ Peterka scored for the Amerks.
Zac Dalpe recorded a hat trick for the Comets. Logan Hutsko and Scott Wilson also netted goals.
Rochester heads to Toronto to take on the Marlies on Saturday afternoon. Face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
