The Buffalo Sabres have assigned goaltender Michael Houser to the Rochester Americans, the team announced Thursday.
With Craig Anderson and Dustin Tokarski back, there is no need to carry three goalies on the active roster.
Houser started the season in Rochester before signing a one-year contract with Buffalo on January 12. He appeared in two games and went 2-0 before entering COVID-19 protocol last Friday.
The 29-year-old has appeared in 11 games with the Amerks this season, posting a .900 save percentage.
Rochester hosts the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night.
