A bill that would expand healthcare coverage to New Yorker residents, including the undocumented, passed a key committee in the state Legislature on Wednesday, January 26.
If enacted, Coverage For All would create a state-funded healthcare option for state residents earning up to 200% of the federal poverty line, according to NY State of Politics blog.
The bill has been approved by the state Assembly Health Committee and is estimated to come with a $500 million price tag if enacted.
