Police are searching for a suspect who stole a car in Corning.
According to a news release from the Corning Police Department, officers were called to a business on Baker Street after 911 dispatch reported a stolen vehicle.
A man was actively unloading items from his 2021 Hyundai Elantra while the engine was running- and keys inside the vehicle.
Police say the car owner was walking toward the car when he saw a person walk over to it and enter. They got behind the wheel, and as the owner ran up to the car, the suspect drove away.
There was a brief struggle between the owner and the suspect, which resulted in the victim being dragged a short distance.
They suffered minor injuries, according to police.
The Elantra has plate number reading DGE7242.
