Busy holiday weekend for Geneva firefighters includes shed fire, crashes, and multiple mutual aid calls

Fire crews in Geneva handled a wide range of emergencies over a short stretch, including a structure fire, multiple vehicle incidents, and several mutual aid responses.

Officials say the activity underscores the steady demand on local departments, with crews responding to everything from fires to medical transport support.

According to Hydrant Hose Company No. 1, Geneva firefighters responded Sunday night alongside Oaks Corners Fire Department for a reported shed fire that spread into a nearby garage. Engine 1112 was first on scene, deploying two handlines and securing a water supply to bring the fire under control.

In the days surrounding that incident, crews were also involved in several other calls. Firefighters assisted with establishing a landing zone for Mercy Flight, responded to a car-versus-bicyclist crash, and handled a separate motor vehicle accident on South Main Street.

Geneva crews also provided standby coverage at Oaks Corners while that department worked a brush fire, ensuring continued emergency response coverage in the area.

Additional activity included a tractor fire at Geneva-on-the-Lake, further adding to an already active period for responders.

Officials praised the coordinated effort among departments as crews managed multiple incidents across the region.
