Amerks forward JJ Peterka enters AHL’s COVID-19 protocol

Rochester Americans head coach Seth Appert spoke to the media Monday morning and said that forward JJ Peterka has been placed in the AHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

Peterka is the fourth Amerks player currently in the AHL’s COVID-19 protocol. He joins forwards Brandon Biro, Ara Nazarian and defenseman Peter Tischke.

Peterka, 19, has played in 27 games with the Amerks this season and has tallied 25 points (6 goals, 19 assists), which is the third-most on the team. He made his NHL debut back on Dec. 29 against the New Jersey Devils. After appearing in two NHL games and not recording a point, he was sent back to Rochester.

The Amerks are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Utica Comets. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
