Sabres reassign Ryan MacInnis from Amerks to taxi squad

The Buffalo Sabres have reassigned forward Ryan MacInnis from the Rochester Americans to the Sabres taxi squad, the team announced Thursday morning.

MacInnis, 25, has appeared in 26 career NHL games, all with Columbus, dating back to the 2019-20 season. He has one assist in those games. This year with Rochester, MacInnis has 16 points (6+10) in 26 games.

Buffalo currently has six players (forwards Kyle Okposo, Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs and Anders Bjork, and defensemen Jacob Bryson and Casey Fitzgerald), in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

The Sabres practiced with 11 available forwards Wednesday. Bryson, meanwhile, has returned to the team facility, but will not be available to play in Thursday night’s home game against the San Jose Sharks.
