A Schuyler County man who killed a high school classmate has been denied parole once again.
The Schuyler County District Attorney’s office says the state Division of Parole ruled against granting parole to 37 year old Joshua Horein. He’s serving a life sentence in the 2000 killing of 15 year old Amber Brockway. Horein was 16 at the time. WENY-TV quotes a post from the DA’s Facebook page:
“Amber’s family is relieved and will continue its fight to keep Horein behind bars for many years. We are truly sorry that Amber’s mother, Joanne, and her extended family have to continue to go through this process every six months, but we will continue to stand with them every time they go through this exhausting and debilitating process.”
Horein can seek parole again next June. He’s serving his sentence at Fishkill Correctional Facility in Dutchess County.
