The Buffalo Sabres loaned defenseman Casey Fitzgerald to the Rochester Americans, the team announced Monday night.
The Sabres don’t have a game scheduled until next Monday, so Fitzgerald is available to the Amerks for Wednesday’s home game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The 24-year-old made his NHL debut last Friday night in Pittsburgh, registering an assist and fighting Sam Lafferty in the Sabres’ 3-2 overtime loss to the Penguins.
Fitzgerald has compiled four goals, seven points and 37 penalty minutes in 21 contests with the Amerks this season.
