A very specific group of people can expect a stimulus check worth up to $6,300 by Dec. 15, just in time for Christmas.
The students at a medical school in Atlanta are eligible for stimulus funding given to the school to help with expenses relating to their education.
Morehouse School of Medicine will be giving its students the financial gift of $6,300 each.

This helps with the cost of childcare, groceries, transportation, housing and healthcare.
The money came from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act which was passed by former President Donald Trump in March of 2020.
The Act was worth $2.2 trillion dollars and created to help Americans financially as the pandemic unfolded.
A $14 billion dollar program was created for colleges and their students through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.

$21.1 billion dollars were added to the fund in January.
Following that, $39.6 billion more was added.
754 students at Morehouse are expecting the $6,300 payments by Dec. 15.

The school received $56 million in all from the funding.
Meharry Medical College in Tennessee also received funding and sent its 956 students grants worth up to $10,000 each.
Their students should have received the money two weeks ago.
