Deputies say Scharett struck the male with a wooden club – causing a fracture to the victim’s left forearm.
While attempting to take Scharett into custody- he physically resisted and was found to be in possession of an illegal dagger.
Scharett was charged with assault, menacing, obstruction, and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and will answer the charges at a later date.
