Severe strain of bird flu located in South Korea

A very bad strain of the bird flu has been spotted in a wild bird for the first time in seven months in South Korea.

Farmers are now concerned about poultry farms.

The last time an avian flu case was seen was March 30, 2021. The case was located in the City of Cheonan.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs issued the highest level of red and immediately required safety and quarantine measures.

A radius of 500 meters from where the bird was found was blocked off and movement to and from close farms has been restricted for three weeks.

This flu can cause severe illness with a chance of death.
