Hospital installs tent in parking lot near emergency room in case extra space is needed in the future

Upstate University Hospital has installed a tent outside of their emergency room in the parking lot for future emergencies.

The tent is not in use nor are there plans to, but it’s there for the administration to get used to it if it ever does need to be used.

COVID cases are still below their highest point, but there are still a lot of cases in addition to regular emergencies.

Right now in Onondaga County there are 82 people hospitalized with the virus and 26 of them are in the ICU.
