Now that school has started, kids finding a meal after school can be a concern

The summer meals program has transitioned back into free breakfasts and lunches for kids at school, but where can kids eat after school is done for the day?

Christina Dandino, director of the Greater Rochester After School and Summer Reliance Program says the best place is through programs after school finishes for the day.

Rochester suffers from some of the highest rates of food insecurity, and Dr. Mitch Gruber, Chief Programs Officer at Foodlink, says Rochester R-Centers serve food as well.

Gruber said any after school programs that are unregistered can reach out to programs to get meals for their students.
