Many are reverting back to COVID-19 safety precautions outside their homes as cases and hospitalizations continue to rise

Cases of COVID-19 as well as hospitalizations are rising in Central New York, and counties are seeing numbers they haven’t seen since peak highs during the pandemic.

More people are starting to take the same precautions they did before when leaving their homes.

One woman from Liverpool says when she leaves her house she puts a mask on if she’s in a crowded situation. She trusts the vaccine but is also aware of breakthrough cases.

Right now, 39% of the new cases in Onondaga County are among vaccinated people.

Many people are just avoiding concerts and the State Fair altogether.

Others choose to use precautions because they have family at home that are considered high risk and simply don’t want to take any chances.
