The Olympics has only recently added sailing as one of their competitive sports, but Skaneateles Sailing Club has offered racing and sailing events since 1976.
The history behind sailing in Skaneateles runs deep, with the Lightning Sailboat being invented in the town.
The club has regattas and racing and Laser racing, which is the same kind of boat being used for the Olympics.
The club is at the former East Side Marina on East Lake Road.
People of any age or experience may join the club.
