New York State and the federal government have once again extended health insurance enrollment. This extension is now throughout 2021. Those now enrolling for health insurance can do so by the 15th of any calendar month, to begin coverage as of the first day of the following month.
The Webster Chamber of Commerce has been enrolling individuals, families, businesses, and sole proprietors in health insurance since 1938. The licensed and certified Chamber staff is able to process insurance enrollment with all the local health insurance carriers and the NY State of Health Marketplace (Medicaid, Essential Plans, Child Health Plus, premium tax credits). The Chamber can also process enrollment in Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Part D plans for those that qualify.
Through the unfortunate circumstances which layoffs from employment brings, the Chamber can help those individuals effected through the process of enrolling in COBRA or other insurance (with possible premium tax credits). For those that have lost their job, the American Rescue Act mandates the COBRA premiums be paid by their employer for up to six months.
CEO and President of the Webster Chamber Barry Howard pointed out, “Today, anyone can seek our assistance. You don’t need to be a Chamber member or a Webster resident to get our help.”
To tap into this community resource, the Webster Chamber can be reached, Monday through Friday, 8am – 4pm, by calling Barbara Baldwin at 585-265-3960. You will be scheduled for an appointment that can be conducted virtually or in-person.
