Deputies: One airlifted after driver failed to yield right of way causing serious crash at SR 104/414 intersection

One person was airlifted from the scene of a violent crash that happened during the afternoon hours on Sunday in the town of Huron.

Deputies say Edward Furano, 63, of Clyde was traveling along Route 104 in the town of Huron when he stopped at the intersection with State Route 414.

That’s when he failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle that was traveling west on State Route 104. The two vehicles collided, resulting in a number of injuries.

Carolyn Grant, 55, of Oswego was the operator of the second vehicle. She suffered ankle and shoulder injuries. Her passenger, identified as Kaitlyn Grant, 21, of the same address, was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

New York State Police, North Rose Fire Department, Rose Fire Department, Wolcott Fire Department, Alton Fire Department, Eastern Wayne Ambulance, Wayne County ALS, and Mercy Flight assisted the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
