Junius man sentenced to 5-15 years in DWI manslaughter case

The Seneca County man who drove drunk- killing a utility truck driver who was standing alongside Burgess Road in March 2020 will spend 5-15 years in prison.

Jon Lamere, of Junius admitted to driving drunk and being on his cell phone when his vehicle slammed into the back of a utility truck parked along the Waterloo road during the overnight hours when the crash occurred.


The impact killed Paul Kelley, 49, who was inside the truck at the time of the wreck.

Lamere pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter earlier this year.
