Felony charges for Geneva man after months-long drug investigation in Penn Yan

Police report the arrest of a Geneva man following a six month long drug investigation int he village of Penn Yan.

Allen Peterson, 40, of Geneva was arrested by police after that lengthy investigation into the sale of methamphetamine.

It’s alleged that Peterson sold meth to an agent of the Penn Yan Police Department in the village this year. He was indicted by a Yates County Grand Jury on several charges- including the following:

– Criminal sale of a controlled substance as a Class A-II felony; and
– Criminal sale of a controlled substance as a Class D felony.


He was arrested in the city of Geneva on June 28 with the assistance of the Geneva Police Department and Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

He was arraigned in Yates County Court and will answer the charges at a later date. Police say he was released and not held on bail.

The Penn Yan Police Department was assisted by a number of agencies- including the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, and Geneva Police Department.
