On Saturday, the Booker T. Washington Center celebrated Juneteenth with Auburn residents.
The center had hoped to celebrate last year but due to Covid restrictions was unable to.
The event held live music, vendors, and food trucks.
Juneteenth is a celebration of the day slaves learned of the emancipation proclamation two years after it was signed by President Abraham Lincoln and was just voted by Congress to become a federal holiday.
