New York State Police are investigating- and searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Cortland County.
It happened Tuesday evening in the town of Cincinnatus, according to troopers, who say that four bicyclists were on Route 26 when two of them were hit by a vehicle.
The vehicle didn’t stop- and one of the two bicyclists were killed. The second was transported by ambulance to a Syracuse hospital.
The condition of that individual was not known as of early-Wednesday.
Troopers say it happened around 7:30 p.m. Route 26 was closed between Telephone Road and Taylor Valley Road as the investigation unfolded.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact state police. Troopers were assisted by deputies from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, Cincinnatus Fire Department, and Cincinnatus Ambulance.
