The Children Awaiting Parents adoption agency in Rochester announces fundraiser taking place in Geneva

The Children Awaiting Parents non-profit agency in Rochester has announced in a press release a fundraiser and motorcycle rally to benefit children awaiting parents:

Gina Domingo has a special place in her heart for the Rochester-based non-profit, Children Awaiting Parents (CAP). As a child, Domingo bounced around numerous foster homes, never having a permanent, loving family of her own. She knows first-hand the loss and trauma experienced by children in foster care.

On Saturday, June 26 from 4-7 pm, Domingo and the Kendaia Kingz motorcycle group host a family event to raise money and awareness for CAP’s work to find forever families for children waiting the longest in foster care. The Family FUNdraiser & Rally will include family activities, games, music, food, raffles, speakers, a pie-eating contest, dunk tank, and motorcycle show. Geneva Harley-Davidson (1103 Rte 5 & 20, Geneva, NY) is providing their large outdoor area for the event.

“The Kendaia Kingz and I want everyone to know about the 125,000 kids in foster care waiting for a forever family, and to be part of the ‘bigger picture,'” said Domingo. “We want potential families and donors to know about CAP’s important work, and we want waiting kids to know that we have their backs.”

Children 12 and younger are free, with a suggested donation of $10 per adult. All proceeds go directly to Children Awaiting Parents.

“CAP is so incredibly grateful to Gina for organizing this event,” said Executive Director Lauri McKnight. “The more community interest and resources we have, the more loving, adoptive families we can recruit for waiting children and youth.”

The motorcycle show is open to all riders, with a top price of $300. Interested riders can pre-register at the Harley-Davidson store or by email to [email protected]. Potential event sponsors also can contact Gina via email.
