Environmental cleanup resumes at Former Philips Lighting site in Bath

  • Staff Report

Environmental cleanup efforts have resumed at the former Philips Lighting Company site on State Route 54 in Bath. The site, now vacant, had its 335,000-square-foot facility demolished three years ago.

In April, workers began removing the existing concrete slab and parking lot to access and remove contaminated soil beneath. This preparation was necessary for the next phase of the cleanup process.

The cleanup activities are scheduled to continue through October, aiming to ensure the site is thoroughly decontaminated and safe for future use.
