Police say an arrest has been made after a 17-year-old turned himself in following a shots fired investigation on East Union St. near Vienna St. in the village of Newark.
On Wednesday, November 4 around 9:21 p.m. police were notified of gunshots and bullets entering a residence on East Union St.
Police responded and determined that the residence had sustained damage from bullets. Police then interviewed victims, witnesses, and reviewed video surveillance- ultimately developing a person of interest.
On February 23 at 1:20 p.m. in agreement with the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office, a 17-year-old adolescent offender turned himself in to authorities.
He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of attempted assault with a dangerous weapon, and one count of reckless endangerment- all felony charges.
The adolescent offender was transported to Wayne County Youth Court for arraignment.
Due to age and state laws the suspect was not identified.
