Dozens of charges filed after pair breaks into 10 vehicles around Skaneateles

New York State Police say two people are facing dozens of charges after stealing items from 10 different vehicles in Skaneateles, DeWitt, Pompey and Marcellus.

Peter S. Dagostino Jr., 35, of Syracuse, and a 15-year-old male, are accused of stealing money, purses, wallets, backpacks, and other items from 10 vehicles.

State police were notified around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday about the theft. They reported seeing two people break into their car.


The individuals fled the scene, but crashed their vehicle. The two were taken into custody without further incident.

Dagostino Jr. was charged with five counts of grand larceny, aggravated DWI, conspiracy, and criminal possession of marijuana. All of those charges are felonies. He was also charged with 22 misdemeanors, as well as one violation.

The 15-year-old was charged with five counts of grand larceny as a felony, as well as a number of other misdemeanors.

Police said additional charges may be coming as the investigation continues.
