Shannon O’Connor has left the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library.
She previously served as the library’s director – leading it through a major renovation at the Ovid community stopping point.
“The board is deeply appreciative of the many contributions made by our former director; her creativity and community involvement have been exemplary,” said Lisa Brown, board president.
The board announced the appointment of interim director Chelsea Hastings. She’s been the library director at the Interlaken Public Library, a role she was remain in while serving as interim director in Ovid.
The board also appointed Ashley Bullivant as interim assistant to the director. She has filled a number of library staff roles at the Ovid library over the last decade, and brings years of experience and deep knowledge of the library.
Bullivant will manage day-to-day operations, according to Brown.
“We are very fortunate to have a talented and dedicated staff, and a board who are all fully committed to the library, its role as a community hub, and our patrons,” added Brown.
With interim leadership in place, a formal search process for a new Library Director will begin, with participation by the board, library staff and community members.
