A local man faces felony charges after a reckless driving complaint near Penn Yan Academy.
Police arrested Brandon Miller, 21, of Penn Yan after the School Resource Officer for the district received a complaint of a reckless driver at the Penn Yan Academy parking lot.
Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle still inside the parking lot. Upon speaking with Miller, several signs of intoxication were observed, according to police, who say the entire ordeal unfolded around 2:37 p.m. on January 19th.
Miller was taken into custody after field sobriety tests. He refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content.
He was ultimately charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law – making it a felony county, as well as DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, and driving on a sidewalk.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
