New York State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a trucker dead on the westbound off-ramp of the Thruway at Exit 43 on Tuesday.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. State Police say a 34-year-old truck driver, who was not identified, was trapped inside the vehicle after the wreck.
Troopers said the vehicle was traveling east when it crossed the median, traveled through a grassy area next to the westbound off-ramp, and struck a tree head-on.
The truck was on its side when first responders arrived on-scene.
The Manchester Fire Department, Shortsville Ambulance, Finger Lakes Ambulance, Farmington Service, and New York State Thruway Authority assisted at the scene.
The driver was not a New York resident, troopers said.
