Officials: COVID-19 exposure at Ginny Lee Café at Wagner Vineyards

The Seneca County Health Department is warning of a new possible COVID-19 exposure at the Ginny Lee Café at Wagner Vineyards.

An individual who works at the cafe tested positive for COVID-19, according to health officials. They had the potential to infect others.

The potential exposure occurred at the café on Friday, November 6, 2020 between the hours of 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. It is recommended that anyone who was at the Ginny Lee Café between these hours on November, 6 monitor your self for any symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headache, sore throat and a new loss of sense of taste or smell for 14 days. If you experience any of these you should contact your primary care physician and be tested.

The individual who tested positive is in isolation. Public health staff are currently conducting contact tracing for this case.

“As we see an increase in the cases of COVID-19 in our community and the region, it is imperative that everyone make every effort to stop the spread of this disease,” Public Health Director Vickie Swinehart said.

She says everyone can take the following steps to help stop the spread of the virus.

  • Refrain from non-essential travel
  • Keep 6 feet of distance between yourself and others when in public
  • Wear a mask at all times  in public spaces, especially when 6 feet of distance cannot be maintained.
  • Wash your hands well and often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid close and continued contact with other people not in your household
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

“These preventive measures are especially important now as we approach the holiday season and families wish to gather and celebrate. We must all continue to work together to slow the spread of this virus,” Swinehart added.
