Possible COVID exposure at Fingerlakes Mall in Auburn

The Cayuga County Health Department is warning of a possible COVID-19 exposure at the Cayuga Bombers Baseball Association fundraiser.

It was a chicken BBQ held on Sunday, November 1st from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fingerlakes Mall.

“There have been multiple people who tested positive for COVID-19 who were associated with food preparation,” a press release from health officials said. “These positive individuals were admitted into mandatory isolation and their numerous contacts were also placed into mandatory quarantine.”

It’s an ongoing situation, according to health officials, who say that contact tracing efforts are still happening. “Consequently more people have tested positive related to these exposures and have been placed into isolation and others have been placed into quarantine,” the release added.

People who have COVID-19 have an array of symptoms including fever, cough, fatigue, and several others. They can appear up to 14 days after original exposure.
