Deputies: Geneva man charged with arson after starting fire that damaged home in Lyons

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 20-year-old Geneva resident following an arson investigation.

Deputies charged Brandon Golden, 20, with fourth- and fifth-degree arson. Both counts stem from an incident on Elmer Street in the town of Lyons.

Golden is accused of taking items from a residence and using them to start a fire. The Lyons Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, which caused damage to a neighboring home.

Golden was processed and released on appearance tickets. The charges will be answered at a later date.
