Luxury spa and healing center at the Inns of Aurora opening Spring 2021

The Inns of Aurora, a lakeside luxury boutique resort in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, introduces the Spa at the Inns of Aurora, a new 15,000-square-foot destination spa offering a holistic approach to wellness for body and mind. Opening in spring 2021, the spa is designed to promote deep healing and harmony within a luxury setting surrounded by nature, with multiple outdoor and indoor spa pools. The Spa’s extensive menu of treatments will be designed and delivered onsite by Rasa Spa, the region’s leader in holistic healthcare and healing therapies. Rasa Spa began serving the Finger Lakes region in 2006 when the business opened its first location in Ithaca, and has earned an impeccable reputation for delivering customized, professional, outstanding bodywork and skincare services.

Situated above the historic Village of Aurora, the Spa will feature expansive views of Cayuga Lake with unobstructed access to surrounding lavender fields and scenic nature trails. Award winning global design firm, Hart Howerton, led the planning, architecture, and interior design of the spa, honoring the site’s farming origins with a composition of agricultural forms that orient guests to breathtaking views and intimate outdoor gathering places. The historic setting is juxtaposed with exceptional modern art hand-selected by Pleasant Rowland, founder of the Inns of Aurora.

The Spa is registered to pursue WELL Certification, the premier standard for advancing human health and wellbeing in buildings globally. WELL is focused exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve our comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, our health and wellness. The Spa’s innovative design features include geothermal heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, which are energy efficient and provide enhanced indoor air quality; lighting and shade control systems, which reduce the need for climate control; and acoustic design that provides noise separation throughout the interior, while limiting background noise. These engineering choices represent a commitment to the well-being of the Spa’s guests and staff, making the Spa a comfortable and healthy space for all its occupants to enjoy.

The Spa enhances the Inns of Aurora’s established wellness offerings—including yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda consultations—led by the property’s Director of Serenity, Laura Coburn, in the Inns of Aurora’s yoga studio, the Loft. “Our wellness offerings go beyond our signature restorative yoga classes and herbal tea and essential oil blending workshops,” notes Coburn, an Ayurveda Health Counselor, Reiki Master, and Infinite Light yoga teacher in the Kripalu lineage. “Our programming encourages guests to connect deeply with nature. Embraced by the clean waters of Cayuga Lake to the west and surrounded by over 350 acres of pristine land to the east, our resort is in an ideal location for our guests to ground and balance the body and mind—whether they hike one of our nature trails, take a sunset paddle in one of our kayaks, or arrange for a fishing or archery lesson with our Outdoorsman.”

“The Inns of Aurora’s philosophy is deeply rooted in relaxation and reconnection, and we believe the need for tranquility will only continue to grow in today’s world. When our guests are in Aurora, it’s our hope they can disconnect from the everyday and find harmony,” comments Sue Edinger, Chief Operating Officer of the Inns of Aurora. “Opening the Spa complements our existing wellness programming and advances Aurora’s position as the premier destination within the Finger Lakes.”

The farm-inspired Spa campus is designed to promote deep healing and harmony in body and mind. Notable features include:

  • Ten treatment rooms, six enhanced with fireplaces; relaxing spaces for both individual and couples’ sessions
