Williamson man convicted of sex crimes in Wayne County Court

A Wayne County man could face a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of sex crimes this week.

Wayne County District Attorney Mike Calarco said Matthew Almond, 40, was convicted in a bench trial of two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child in a press release.

The charges are Class A felonies.

He was also found guilty of one count of first-degree sex abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arrested in August 2019. He was remanded to the jail pending sentencing. Almond faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
