Roger Misso is not backing down.
The veteran, and rural Democrat running for the 24th Congressional District says he will stay in the race and force a primary.
Misso is a native of Red Creek and graduated from Red Creek High School in 2005.
“Our district is 50% rural but has never elected a rural person to Congress before ever, in our entire history,” Misso said at a press conference on Wednesday. “In fact, only one person who grew up in Wayne County has ever been elected to Congress – and that was 192 years ago. I think it’s time for a second.”
He says his campaign remains focused on the issues.
“For everyone who was ever picked last, forgotten, ignored, overlooked, maligned, or mistreated – this is your campaign. This is your home. And together, we will not yield,” Misso added.
