Police: Rochester pair charged with robbery after Canandaigua home invasion

Police arrested two people from Rochester after a home invasion in Canandaigua.

Charles Hoptkins, 31, and Melissa Coon, 29, both of Rochester were arrested on second-degree robbery charges after an investigation by the Canandaigua Police Department.

It’s alleged that the two entered a residence with the intent of robbing the victim. Once they got inside, they physically attacked the victim – causing injuries.



The two then stole property and left. The victim was treated at F.F. Thompson Hospital for injuries sustained in the robbery and was later released.

Both were remanded to the Ontario County Jail and are set to appear in court at a later date.
