Auburn could manage its own ambulance service, instead of going with TLC

City Clerk Chuck Mason says ambulance service in the city of Auburn could be taken over, if a new proposal is considered.

Nothing is finalized yet, but Mason tells Finger Lakes News Radio that City Manager Jeff Dygert is weighing a proposal that would internalize ambulance service.

The City has historically used TLC Ambulance, which has served as a third-party vendor for the contract.

Their initial five year contract expired in 2018, but a series of short-term extensions have allowed it to continue operating.

No word yet on how soon City Council might act on this item.
