Boat slips approved at Lake House on Canandaigua despite concerns

While there are admittedly concerns – the docks at the Lake House on Canandaigua have been given the green light.

The Canandaigua City Planning Commission on Tuesday night granted approval for 40 docks to serve the former Inn on the Lake on South Main Street, according to The Messenger Post.

Originally 67 slips were requested. This time that request was moved down to 40. It’s unclear if more slips could be requested down the road, but this at least gets the development moving forward.

The docks will be moved further away from a neighboring marina and navigational channel. Their height will also be reduced.

Attorney Robbert Brenner says the slips won’t have a big impact. He represents the Lake House. “We think there will be plenty of space for boats,” Brenner said, according to the Post.

The Lake House on Canandaigua is expected to open around May or June.
