Deputies: Syracuse woman stole more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Seneca County store

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 21-year-old Syracuse resident on a warrant following a theft investigation.

Mercedes Smith, 21, of Syracuse was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

She’s accused of stealing merchandise exceeding a value of $1,000 from a business in Junius in July 2019.

Smith was held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
