Cuts to Medicaid could have an impact across New York State.
On January 1st the state’s health department cut one percent from the program. Additional cuts are expected in the coming years.
Wade Norwood, CEO of Common Ground Health, says the cut could devastate the healthcare industry, according to 13WHAM.
“This is an impact on everyone,” Norwood told them. “It winds up meaning that people delay care. They wind up presenting for care sicker than they would have otherwise. And they wind up costing the general fund lots more than a prudent investment would.”
He says the impact of the cuts could have a ripple effect.
