Ithaca man accused of violating protective order in Seneca County

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Ithaca resident who violated a protective order during a domestic incident earlier this month.

On December 9th at approximately 11:45 p.m. deputies arrested John Orak, 51, at an Interlaken residence on a criminal contempt charge, as well as one count of harassment.

Orak is accused of violating an order of protection, which occurred on December 3rd around 4 a.m. He’s said to have harassed the Covert resident, who had an order of protection active.

Deputies say investigation showed that he left the scene of the incident before authorities arrived. He was processed and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
