An Auburn man has been arrested on multiple charges after a vehicle- and foot-pursuit, which started with an attempted traffic stop in the Town of Sennett.
They say a state trooper was also hurt in the incident.
It started with a traffic stop, which was attempted on Route 5 in Sennett. The driver, identified as Reynaldo Ratfliffe Sierra, 23, of Auburn, fled the scene in his vehicle.
He traveled into the city of Auburn, where authorities continued pursuit. That’s when state police say Ratfliffe Sierra left his vehicle, and took off on foot.
Troopers attempted to detain him, and as result of that altercation – one officer was injured.
Police say felony charges have been filed – including second-degree assault. He was also charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, which is a misdemeanor.
They say he’s being held without bail at the Cayuga County Jail since arraignment.
