Yates County budget approved without much fanfare

The Yates County Legislature has adopted budget for 2020. Budget Officer Nonnie Flynn calls it the lowest tax rate since 2012, according to The Chronicle-Express.

The rate will sit at $5.99 per $1,000 of assessed property value.

There weren’t any public comments from taxpayers at the hearing held on November 21st, but a few legislatures had some thoughts about opportunities and challenges.
