The South Seneca Falcon Players and the South Seneca Falcon Music Boosters are proud to announce their 3rd Annual Duke’s Ball! An elegant evening of dinner, music, dancing and sharing stories that honor the memory and legacy of long time South Seneca music teacher and community member Robert “Duke” Gerlach as we raise money to support his Memorial Scholarship.
The Duke’s Ball- An Elegant Evening of Dinner and Dancing will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the South Seneca HS Gymnasium- 7263 Main St., Ovid, NY.
The doors will open at 5:30 pm with the buffet dinner starting at 6:00pm. The Dinner Hour will feature entertainment by South Seneca students, staff and alumni along with sharing stories and memories about Mr. Gerlach. Following dinner there will be dancing from 7-9:30 pm featuring the music of the Finger Lakes regional big band- For Dancer’s Only- The Big Swingin’ Band! In fact this big band was originally created by Duke over 40 years ago and was originally called the Duke Gerlach Big Band!
“Duke was such an involved and beloved man in our community, we continue to honor his life through our annual scholarships, supported by this grand community event! He cared deeply about the youth of our community and fostering their confidence and love of the Arts. We hope many people will join us for a fun evening with great food, entertainment, stories and dancing as we carry on Mr. Gerlach’s legacy through our Annual Duke’s Ball.”
