New York makes $3M available for municipalities to buy zero emissions equipment

New York’s Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo says that communities that want to promote emissions-free vehicles can apply for part of $3 million in rebates and grants.

Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos says electric vehicles cost less to operate and are more energy efficient.

Municipalities have until May 29, 2020 to apply for $2.5 million in total grants to install hydrogen filling station components or electric vehicle supply equipment. Those grants require a 20 percent local match and are available for up to $250,000 for a facility and $500,000 for one municipality.
