Motorcyclist killed in two-car crash in Palmyra

One person was killed in a motorcycle crash in Palmyra on Tuesday.

The crash was reported around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 31 and Vienna Road, according to first responders.

Two vehicles were involved – a motorcycle and passenger car.

The motorcyclist was killed in the crash; and their identity was not released.

The motorcyclist was traveling east on Route 31, and according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office – witnesses told deputies that the operator was passing vehicles in a no passing zone with double solid lines at the time of the collision.

Deputies were assisted by the Palmyra Fire Department, Palmyra Police Department, Macedon Police Department and Finger Lakes Ambulance.

Deputies say that the collision caused Route 31 to be closed for several hours.
